Registered migration agents need 10 CPD points each registration year — but the 10 isn't a free-for-all. Here's exactly how the points break down under the 2026 OMARA rules, and where agents most often trip up.
10 CPD points per registration year, of which at least 5 must be Category A (interactive). Within your 10 you must also complete 1 point on ethics and 1 point on the RMA Code of Conduct.

The mandatory ethics and Code of Conduct points count toward your total 10 — they aren't extra. What matters is that you don't reach renewal without having covered both topics.
You can't cram a full year of CPD into one sitting. No more than 6 CPD points can be earned from online activities within any 24-hour period. In practice, that means spreading your online study across at least two days — and it's another reason to book your interactive Category A sessions early rather than leaving everything to the last week.
